Obverse: CONSTANTINVS IVN NOB C, laureate and cuirassed bust of Constantinus II right. Reverse: PROVIDENTIAE CAESS, campgate with two towers, star above, open doors. Mintmark in exergue. Constantinus II (317–340 AD) was the son of Constantine the Great and served as Caesar from 317 and Augustus from 337. After his father’s death, he ruled parts of the Western Roman Empire but was killed in 340 AD during a conflict with his brother Constans.
