Reverse: TR POT COS IIII around; in exergue LIB IIII – Liberalitas standing left, draped, holding an abacus in right hand and a cornucopia in left. Antoninus Pius (AD 138–161), the adopted son of Hadrian, presided over one of Rome’s calmest and most prosperous eras. He rarely left Italy, governing through trusted officials and strengthening frontiers—most famously with the Antonine Wall in Britain. His reign emphasized legal reform, the deification of Hadrian, and prudent finances; he was succeeded by Marcus Aurelius.
