Philip I (AD 244–249) — Æ (sestertius-sized), c. 30 mm. Obv: IMP M IVL PHILIPPVS AVG, laureate, draped and cuirassed bust right (mature portrait). Rev: P M S COL VIM, Moesia between bull and lion; AN … in exergue. Ref. cf. AMNG I/1 120 (type). Philip II (AD 247–249 as Augustus / 244–247 as Caesar) — Æ, 21–22 mm (youthful portrait). Obv: M IVL PHILIPPVS CAES (if Caesar) or IMP M IVL PHILIPPVS AVG (if Augustus), draped and cuirassed bust right. Rev: P M S COL VIM, Moesia between bull and lion; AN … in exergue (you noted AN VIIII = AD 247/48). Ref. cf. AMNG I/1 (Philip II Viminacium types). A coherent and attractive duo linking father and son with the same iconic Viminacium reverse.
