Bronze coin of Emperor Severus Alexander, struck in Nicaea, Bithynia between 228–235 AD. Obverse features a laureate, draped and cuirassed bust of the emperor facing right. Reverse displays three military standards (aquila between two signa), with the Greek legend ΝΙΚΑΙΕΩΝ. A genuine piece of Roman provincial history – an attractive addition to any ancient coin collection.
